The AC output voltage waveform of a square wave inverter is a square wave. The inverter circuit used in such inverter is not exactly the same, but the common feature is with relatively simple circuit, a small number of power switches are used.
The design power is generally between one hundred watts to kilowatts. Advantages of square wave inverter includes: simple circuit, low cost and easy for maintenance. The disadvantage is that since square wave voltage contains a large number of high-order harmonics, additional losses in the electrical load with core inductor or transformer would be generated and cause interference in some radio and communication equipment.
In addition, these inverters’ pressure range is not wide enough, the protection function is not perfect, with relatively large noise and other shortcomings.
